HCC Coding and Risk Adjustment Training

Coding School provides HCC coding and risk adjustment training on one platform. We have a repository of learning resources to use with the practical applications. Our web portal provides access to both traditional classrooms and self-paced learning.

 

Training Curriculum

Basic HCC coding training and advance HCC Coding training 

Eligibility: Non coding professionals with a pre-requisite knowledge of anatomy, physiology, terminology, and ICD 10 familiarity.

Duration: Non coding professionals with a pre-requisite knowledge of anatomy, physiology, terminology, and ICD 10 familiarity.

Features: The Basic course comprises of 20 modules featuring:

  • Web-based training curriculum

  • Cutting edge Blackboard Learn technology

  • Each topic detailed through text (PowerPoint) and videos

  • Interactive learning with practical application tools

  • Anonymized charts for practice

The course can be completed in 45 to 60 hours depending on education and experience.

Evaluations: The tests after each module are timed and require that the student demonstrate a thorough understanding of the material in order to proceed to the next module or section. Forum discussions and feedbacks for all the tests are provided in real time for a deeper understanding of the concepts. After the student has completed the entire training program, there is also a comprehensive final exam. In order to pass the final examination, students must demonstrate a high level of proficiency.

Eligibility:

  • Coders who complete the Basic Risk Adjustment and HCC Coding training

  • Coders with any coding certification and who are in need of practical hands-on experience in HCC coding

  • Experienced coders who want to gain more hands-on experience may also attempt only the practical coding scenarios

Duration: Total clock hours are 25 hours for Practical coding excluding the basic curriculum.

Features:The Advanced course comprises of 25 modules. This course focuses on the challenges that a coder would face through the transitional phase of becoming an experienced coder in a practical environment and features:

  • Web-based training curriculum

  • Cutting edge Blackboard Learn technology

  • Each topic detailed through text (PowerPoint) and videos

  • Interactive learning with practical application tools

  • Anonymized charts for practice

  • Practical real time coding charts – 5 Modules with 250 charts to test the speed and the accuracy

Evaluations: Each chart is a test for evaluation of the speed and accuracy. Forum discussions and feedback for all the tests are provided in real time for deeper understanding of the concepts. After the student has completed the entire training program there is also a comprehensive final exam. In order to pass the final examination, students must demonstrate a high level of proficiency.
